A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

Tonight, many East Asians will celebrate Christmas Eve. People seem to know this night is special, even if they don’t know why. At a Baptist meeting in 1835, J. Lewis Shuck put a slip of paper into the offering plate on which he wrote, “I give myself.” In 1836 he and his new bride arrived in Macao. Pray for missionaries as they serve during this Christmas season. For some it is their first Christmas away from friends and family. For others, it may be years since they have celebrated Christmas in their home country.

As you celebrate Jesus, the true gift of Christmas, pray for those who have answered the call to take this gift to a dying world. Pray joy will flood their hearts and spill out to the lost all around them. Pray many will receive God’s gift of salvation this Christmas.
