This Journeyman Program is an outreach initiative in which young Koreans serve overseas alongside a mentor for two or three years. IMB works closely with the Korea Foreign Mission Board (FMB) and etu Missions to strengthen and support selection, deployment, care, and strategic placement of participants.
Participants enroll in local university language courses or learn the local language through private tutoring, while engaging in ministries aimed at soul-winning. Through this program, they have the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, befriend them, serve them, and share the love and truth of Christ.
During their service, participants receive guidance from IMB missionaries. Some also interact with Hands on/Journeyman teams from the U.S. and receive training in IMB’s mission strategies.
Serving local communities provides practical hands on opportunities to learn culture and language. Most importantly, by loving and serving individuals, participants gain God’s heart and vision for that nation and its people.
Throughout the Journeyman Program, participants naturally acquire practical ministry skills and knowledge on the mission field. Upon completion, they are equipped to exert positive influence for mission in Korea and worldwide, and discover themselves as leaders of the next generation of global missions.
