A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
The Alxa (“Ah-la-shan”) Mongols live isolated in and around the Gobi Desert of Inner Mongolia, China. Though surrounded by Buddhism, atheism, and communism, they remain fervently dedicated to Islam, which creates a barrier between them and other Mongolians. They are one of the smallest Muslim people groups within China and there are no known Christians among them. The Alxa Mongols rely on camels for survival. The estimated two hundred thousand camels in the region outnumber the people eight to one. Camel milk is used for cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, and beverages. Though the Bible exists in their language, few Alxa Mongols have heard the gospel. They love to tell stories through songs.
Pray for the gospel to be sung in the villages where they live. Pray God will break down any barriers that stand in the way of them coming to faith.
