A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
A woman with throat cancer had to have her voice box removed. She learned to speak very softly without it, however, hearing her required being close to her. Similarly, Christians must stay close to Jesus in order to hear his voice. John 10 portrays Jesus as the Good Shepherd whose sheep hear, know, and follow his voice. John 15 says Jesus is the true vine and his disciples are the branches. These two analogies emphasize that Christians need a constant, close relationship with Jesus to follow his instruction. Many workers in East Asia serve in unsafe areas among people groups with overwhelming needs. Stress is a daily reality. These special servants need prayer.
Pray they will daily remain close to God through Bible study and prayer. Pray for them and their partners to hear God’s voice and follow his guidance.
