A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
The Wenma Zhuang live near the Vietnam border and are known as “people of the soil” because they primarily work in agriculture. They are also superstitious, believing in and worshiping spirits while trying hard to not offend them. The first Southern Baptist missionary to the Zhuang arrived in 1862. Eventually, churches attracted a small number of Zhuang. Today, very few of the Wenma Zhuang are Christians, and no resources exist that would enable the Wenma Zhuang to hear, understand, or respond to the gospel.
Lord, break through long-held superstitions and open the eyes of the Wenma Zhuang so they see you. Burden the hearts of Christians to translate the gospel and take the message of hope to this people group living in darkness. May this happen not by might or power but by God’s Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
