A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

The Naadam Festival, which takes place July 11-13, is one of the two largest annual holidays in Mongolia and attracts worldwide attention. Another name for Naadam is “The Three Men’s Games.” It features wrestling, horse racing, and archery in celebration of Mongolia’s past empire and her present independence. While Naadam has Buddhist and Shamanist religious elements, it has become more secular since the 1930s. Families and friends gather to watch the events and enjoy traditional Mongolian foods including a variety of dairy products that are abundant in the summer months.

Ask God to prepare hearts to hear the Good News of Jesus as Christians boldly and creatively share with family and friends during this holiday. Ask God to protect young children who ride in the horse races; because of the heat and intense preparation for the event, horses often fall during the race and the children are injured.
