A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
Every June, China comes to a standstill for two days as high school seniors take a college entrance exam. This test is called the “GaoKao” and literally means, “higher examination.” A student’s earned mark determines future opportunities and money-earning potential. This score is the most important number in any Chinese student’s life and is the result of years of memorization, study, and constant stress.
Pray high school students will find their worth not in their exam scores but in Christ. Pray local Christians will find ways to encourage students and their families during this incredibly stressful time. Ask God to help these families see and understand that our lives have worth only because of Christ.
