A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

Praise God for strengthening the church among the Shannan* people that meets in multiple locations across the southern mountain range. While undergoing months of intense persecution and intimidation, more than fifty new Christians were added to their numbers and baptized. During this time, many stood strong, but some fell away.

Pray the Shannan leaders will grow in their knowledge and obedience to God’s Word, and that Christians will continue to meet together. The Bible is being translated into this language—pray any obstacles will be thrown down and the road made smooth so that thousands will clearly hear the Good News for the first time in their heart language. Pray these Christians will remain faithful in the midst of persecution and intimidation.
