A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

The Korean economy was built on a culture of hard work and social mobilization. Today, South Korea is a world leader in technology, telecommunications, shipbuilding, and car-making. However, the corporate culture of men working long hours from early morning until deep into the night, then going out to drink alcohol until the early hours of the morning, causes many children in Korea to grow up with mostly absent fathers. Strained families break apart because one or both spouses overwork. The obsession with accumulating enough wealth to ensure a comfortable retirement and provision for children has turned work and money into very powerful idols in Korean society.

Pray God will transform the culture of work and wealth in Korea so people can find true treasure in God rather than in created things. Pray Korean families will be healed.
