A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
Historically, Korean society has placed great value on family. There is no denying the benefit of keeping Korean families in close relationship with each other, but the negative side of this can be the practice of ancestor worship. Though multigenerational living and many other traditions are fading, children and family remain very important values in Korean society.
Pray God will use this cultural value for his kingdom in Korea. Pray families will indeed be a strength for the Korean people, and that marital strife, generational strife, and broken families will be reduced by the power of Jesus Christ and his gospel. Pray Christian parents will not make idols of their children but will love them and teach them in the ways that God commands. Pray children will respect and honor their parents.
