A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

The family gathered stray bits of paper that had blown from the huge pile of burning spirit money in the middle of the parking lot. Today marks the beginning of Ghost Month, the seventh month of the lunar calendar, when it is believed that the spirits of the deceased come back to roam the earth. During this month, people honor their ancestors by burning paper replicas of food, cars, houses, money, or even modern things like computers and iPhones. They also stay home at night, fearful of the ghosts that they believe wander freely.

Ask that the Lord of the harvest will raise up harvesters to share the gospel of hope to those who dutifully serve the dead. Pray those who live in fear will meet the God who loves them and gives eternal life. Pray the Lord will free these families to believe in Jesus.
