A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

Today is the first day of the sixth lunar month, when the Naxi people of Lijiang celebrate talbiuq. They celebrate on different days, based on each clan’s choice. They host a meal for family, friends, and deceased ancestors, seeking to honor and worship them. One person described it as a time for ancestors to come and rest in your home.

Pray for God to soften the hearts of the Naxi who are largely enslaved to ancestor worship and the fear of man but pride themselves on becoming modern and scientific. Ask God to break down pride and show the emptiness of ancestor worship and modernity. Pray they will learn to fear God instead of man. Ask for a greater gospel witness among them and for God to bring a great harvest of Naxi people who will be wholehearted disciples. Pray many more Naxi churches will be established.
