A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
A small church plant south of the city of Sendai began out of the rubble of the 2011 tsunami. The group meets in a small farmhouse in the middle of rice paddies. Previously, another church used the farmhouse as a relief distribution center. Through the Lord’s providence, on the very day that this church was praying about the center’s future, IMB missionaries visited and arranged to use the building to start a church. Many volunteers have helped fix up the house, distribute tracts, and host community events. Nearby, people who lost everything in the tsunami live in newly built communities. This area is steeped in Japanese tradition. The church has been blessed by a handful of salvations and a few baptisms.
Pray a rich harvest for the Lord will be gathered as the church leaders disciple young Christians and teach them to evangelize.
