A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
The very identity of an ethnic Tam* person is equal to being a Buddhist, which makes him historically resistant to the gospel. Tam people reject outsiders because of the political tension of previous decades. Recently, however, God has opened doors on two important fronts. With Bible storying, many non-Christian Tam people are learning and studying stories from Scripture, and some are even becoming followers of Christ. With online distribution of stories and songs, the gospel is spreading all across the mountains where Tam people live. One recent indigenous praise song had five hundred thousand hits in just a few weeks. Christians are excited to share the gospel in these ways, but many challenges and roadblocks remain.
Pray for the protection of these avenues, the boldness of Christian witnesses, and the openness of Tam hearts so that many more will be saved.
