A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

Saga Dawa, the Month of Merits, is recognized as the time of Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and death. During this month, Tibetan Buddhists believe that meritorious acts like walking around a religious building, giving alms to monks, lighting butter lamps, or abstaining from meat will gain extra “brownie points” for karma. Some have even said the value of these good works is multiplied by as much as one hundred thousand times this month.

Pray Tibetan Buddhists will realize that no amount of good works can erase a person’s sin because sin is not an action but a heart condition that results in actions. Pray they will find true and complete forgiveness through Jesus.
