A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
According to Korea World Missions Association (KWMA) statistics, 27,993 Korean missionaries were deployed in 173 countries in 2019. The Korean church has been steadfast in their missions focus. Korean missionaries were sent to Shandong Province, China, as early as 1913. Even though the church was poor after the Korean War, they still heeded the Great Commission and sent missionaries to Thailand, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Brazil. The Korean church revival movement peaked in the 1980s, resulting in the deployment of a great number of missionaries. A current concern is the slowing down of the deployment of Korean missionaries. One key factor is the decline of Christianity in Korea
Pray for revitalization of the Korean church and for Korean Christians to have a biblical understanding of missions.
