Global Missions Partners (GMPs) are missionaries called by God and sent as cross-cultural missionaries to work alongside local IMB teams. They are recommended and sent by local churches or mission organizations, then receive approval from an IMB representative of the sending country to collaborate with an IMB team in their mission field.
The focus and purpose of GMPs is to evangelize unreached people groups through team ministry in order to disciple them and plant reproducing churches. Eligible applicants can be single individuals or families, and they can either serve long-term or for a shorter term of at least a year.
While GMPs are not formally appointed to the IMB, they join as official team members of IMB teams. Their ministry scope is not limited to gospel ministry alone but can include serving in various fields such as media, administration, research, and more. The sending process typically takes 4-6 months.
