A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) air quality scale, any air pollution rating above three hundred means the air is unsafe to breathe. When the ratings get this high, authorities advise people to stay indoors and run air purifiers. Many of China’s cities face significant air pollution from coal-burning electric plants. China now burns over 45 percent of the world’s coal, which is nearly the amount used by all other countries around the world combined.
Pray for the people who live in these cities—God has not forgotten them. Pray that as people suffer the ill effects of pollution, they will realize that God wants to give them life eternal, even if their government may not protect them here on earth. Pray many people will put their hope in Christ and not things of this world.
