God of grace, the Naxi people of Lijiang historically have been steeped in animism. In recent years, they have become increasingly secular due to the tourism industry and the prosperity and worldliness it has brought to the area. Of the more than 320,000 people scattered in the city and in the mountainous regions beyond, less than 1 percent follow Christ. Lord, move among these people, break through hardened hearts, and change lives through Your gospel.
