A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
In November, just after harvest, Nosu people gather to celebrate their New Year. Groups of young men go from house to house, helping slaughter pigs. Each family feasts on pork, buckwheat bread, and potatoes roasted in fire. What isn’t eaten of the pig is cured to nourish the family through the winter.
As they plan for the coldest season and look toward a new year, pray for a great harvest, not just of their crops but souls. Pray against the authorities of the unseen world, mighty powers in this dark world, and evil spirits in the heavenly places—all that might war against the Nosu. Pray for groups of people who visit the homes of their neighbors to proclaim the Good News of Jesus, who is far above any ruler, authority, power, leader or anything else both today and forever.
