A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
In Japan, less than 1 percent of 126 million people are Christian. Many neighbors, friends, and coworkers of Christians are not followers of Christ and may never have heard the gospel. Surrounded by others who do not share their faith and families that may not be supportive, many Japanese Christians feel pressure to blend in. Most Japanese churches are small, and the average attendance is around thirty-five. Many of these churches are located in neighborhoods with Shinto or Buddhist neighbors.
Pray for believers of Jesus in Japan to take opportunities to grow as disciples and boldly share their faith with others. Pray for Japanese churches to have hearts that love those around them with the love of Christ. Pray this love will compel them to find ways to minister and share the gospel with those in their communities.
