Yahweh, Your Word commands us not to worship other gods, because You know they will take our hearts away from You. Off the coast of Putian is Meizhou Island, known as the birthplace of the goddess of the sea, Mazu. Worshipped by many seafarers and their families, they see her as a benevolent and kind protector. Their eyes are blinded to Your truth. Remove the scales, Lord, so they can clearly see You. May they bow before You alone.

You are never to bow down to another god because Yahweh, being jealous by nature, is a jealous God. Exodus 34:14
