A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

South Korea is located on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula. It is separated from North Korea by the Demilitarized Zone, China by the Yellow Sea, and Japan by the East Sea. More than 80 percent of the fifty-one million people live in cities with easy access to mountains, parks, and rivers. The country is culturally homogenous—99 percent of the population speaks the Korean language. South Korea was devastated by the Korean War (1950-1953) but has amazingly risen to be one of Asia’s economic powers. Today it is renowned for Samsung, LG, and Hyundai products, and for K-pop and K-dramas. It’s notable that South Korea is the only country in East Asia that has a high percentage of Christians and religious freedom.

Pray Korean believers will exercise their religious freedom to proclaim God’s awesome power, deeds, and salvation among all peoples.
