A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

The Jiamao Li of China live on the southeastern part of Hainan Island and are descendants of the island’s original inhabitants. Most Jiamao Li are farmers but many are also excellent cloth weavers. In the past, these animists consulted shamans and witchdoctors to deal with sickness. They would often sacrifice animals to gods and spirits. Today, most Jiamao Li have turned to Chinese and Western medicine. The earliest Christian presence on the island was in 1630, and in the early 1900s, many came to Christ. Today, only a handful of Christians exist among the Jiamao Li. Many have not yet heard the Good News.

Ask God to send laborers to this harvest field. Pray for the fertile soil of hearts in which Christians can plant gospel seeds. Pray the Jiamao Li will turn to Christ from traditions that are based on lies.
