Day of Prayer and Fasting—Pride

Pride says, “I don’t need God.” It rests on its own wisdom to achieve what it wants. Pride says, “Look at us. Aren’t we great?” The Bible warns against the sin of pride, and we see the destruction it can cause. National pride is not wrong until it becomes a snare and keeps a person from God. Several countries in East Asia instill national pride in their citizens, telling them that all they need is what the government provides. “Look to us and you will be fine. Trust us,” they say. But God says in Isaiah 45:22, “‘Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.’”

Pray for a humbling of hearts and a turning to God throughout East Asians.
