A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples

Athletes all over the world competing for the title of 2020 Olympic champion in their specific sports are now preparing themselves with rigorous schedules and dedicated discipline. Christian athletes are among these who plan to come to Tokyo to compete.

Like the famous Christian Olympic runner, Eric Liddell, who said, “. . . when I run, I feel his pleasure,” pray these athletes will feel God’s pleasure as they compete. Pray they will see themselves as God’s ambassadors to other countries’ athletes as they interact in the games and in the Olympic Village. Ask the Lord to keep them strong in mind and spirit, as well as in their bodies, so they don’t fall into temptation. May they continue to run the race that is set before them as Christians, knowing that who is waiting at the finish line is also running beside them.
