A Prayer a Day for East Asian Peoples
Chinese Muslims celebrate Eid Al Fitr, breaking the fast, at the end of Ramadan. The community gathers for a meal of mutton, lamb, and beef. Some Chinese Muslims travel to their relatives’ graves to clean the tombs, which is similar to a Chinese festival.
Pray Christians will be invited to break the fast with Chinese Muslims and that they will boldly share the gospel. Pray Chinese Muslims will be exposed to Christian communities and Christ-like fellowship. Pray for Muslim background believers—those who were Chinese Muslims who chose to follow Jesus—this can be a lonely time as the festival is closely tied to their cultural identity. Pray they find Christian community and true fellowship with other followers of Jesus.
